About
Dragon Dreaming Festival celebrates art, music and nature, and the freedom of self-expression in a safe, family friendly gathering not far from Canberra, Australia. Our philosophy is one of nurturing Australia’s alternate artistic culture and we strongly encourage participation by all who attend. We believe that some of the best music and art in the world is found right here in our backyard, and we have been working hard to encourage the creative side of our friends, neighbours and the whole community by providing an avenue for artists to exhibit their art, music or performance pieces in a professionally managed environment.
We are proud to support the local economy and always use locally made products and services where possible. We work hard to develop professional skills and knowledge of everyone involved, from sound management to infrastructure construction. Apart from providing a sense of achievement and learning something new, we feel that in this way participants are given greater opportunities to contribute back to their local communities in the future.
Now entering its 4th year, Dragon Dreaming has grown from a local celebration to a significant event on the Australian outdoor festival calendar. We are proud to welcome people travelling from all states of Australia and even overseas to attend. Last year we expanded the festival to include Friday night and were joined by over 2000 people for the October long weekend.
So if you have not yet experienced Dragon Dreaming, grab your friends, your fancy costumes and camping gear, and come and spend the first weekend of October immersing yourself in a big weekend of entertainment, dancing, learning and adventure that will sit in your memories for many years to come.
The Dragon Dreaming crew thanks Jeremy Hannaford, a talented and emerging Canberra producer, for creating the following short documentary on Dragon Dreaming 2009.
